Co-hosted with San Francisco Estuary Institute
The Salish Sea Science Roundtable online speaker series continues on Tuesday, November 5 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) is being implemented at a large scale to comply with stormwater permit requirements and to provide multiple benefits. In San Francisco, in particular, additional benefits of interest include climate resilience, biodiversity support, pollution reduction, and social equity. This focus on GSI presents an opportunity to work with San Francisco and surrounding municipalities to strategically plan GSI placement at a watershed scale to maximize multiple high-priority benefits to wildlife and humans, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of different types of GSI installations for a range of legacy and emerging contaminants. Join Melissa Foley and Alicia Gilbreath from the San Francisco Estuary Institute to learn more.
Roundtables occur virtually on the first Tuesday of each month as a way to share emerging science that is shaping Salish Sea ecosystem recovery.
