Sarah Tanja

Hershman Fellow


Sarah Tanja is a 2026-2027 Washington Sea Grant Hershman Fellow with the Puget Sound Institute. She provides support on the impacts of protected areas on marine vegetation critical analysis and the microplastics pollution monitoring strategy project. Her research interests center on the adaptation, conservation, and restoration of marine coastal habitat-forming organisms for future oceans. Sarah holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Portland, and a M.S. in Aquatic & Fishery Sciences from the University of Washington.
