Governor Inslee has named City of Bellevue administrator Sheida R. Sahandy as the new Executive Director of the Puget Sound Partnership. Sahandy, 44, is a former corporate attorney who has served as Bellevue’s Assistant to City Manager and Policy Advisor since 2006.

As a city administrator, Sahandy worked to develop environmental indicators and targets, was a leader in the formation of the C-7 New Energy Partnership, and “spearheaded public-private partnerships to increase environmental and corporate responsibility,” according to a newsletter announcement from the Puget Sound Partnership. Sahandy was also a developer of Bellevue’s GreenWA Community Sustainability Assets Web Portal.

She holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government “where she focused on climate, energy and environment” according to the Governor’s office. She received her law degree from Columbia University, and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Sahandy takes over for interim executive director Marc Daily on Feb. 4.
