Public comment period extended on regional plan to help Puget Sound
TACOMA – The public comment period has been extended until Feb. 3 on the regional plan to protect and restore the health of Puget Sound.
The Puget Sound Partnership Action Agenda is the recovery blueprint guiding the work of some 600 government agencies, nonprofit groups and local partners. The document can be viewed online at www.psp.wa.gov and clicking on “Action Agenda Center.” Comments can be submitted online to actionagenda@psp.wa.gov or by mail to Puget Sound Partnership, Attn: Action Agenda, 326 E. D St., Tacoma, WA 98421.
“With a document of this importance, it’s no surprise partners urged the extension of the comment period,” said Gerry O’Keefe, agency executive director. He said the agency anticipates formal completion of the Action Agenda this spring after review by the agency’s Governor-appointed Leadership Council.
Gov. Chris Gregoire and the Legislature established the Puget Sound Partnership to develop and implement an aggressive action agenda, spur action and ensure measurable success for restoring the health of Puget Sound by 2020. For information, go online to www.psp.wa.gov.
